Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay received the 2025 FUEN Award

In her laudatory speech, FUEN Vice-President Olívia Schubert praised Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay as a "committed, competent, mediating, persistent, integrating and deeply humane" personality, highlighting her work as Minority Ombudsman over the past twelve years and her forty years of teaching in the field of minority protection. In her acceptance speech, the award winner expressed her gratitude to FUEN and its member organizations for their unbroken efforts in protecting minorities and asserting their interests since 1949, and emphasized the importance of mutual solidarity among communities, cultural diversity, and the active involvement of young people as the foundation for Europe's future.
The award is represented by the artwork "Two Bridges" by Simone Bruhn, a Danish sculptor living in Germany, which symbolizes FUEN's core values: connection, stability, and peaceful coexistence.
