Regional meeting in Bratislava organised by the European Network of Ombudsmen

Staff members of the ombudsman offices of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Hungary gathered on 22 February in Bratislava to a working meeting organised by the European Network of Ombudsmen. Representative of the European Ombudsman, Dr. Marta Hirsch-Ziembinska, Head of the ICT and Inquiries Unit moderated the discussion focusing on  Ombudsmen’s monitoring of compliance with the Charter by national administrations when using EU Funds and the European Ombudsman’s monitoring of the European Commission’s supervisory role over the disbursement of Funds. Further issues discussed were related to the right to free movement and equal treatment; migration and asylum as well as cross-border health care.
